Eman Maarek is an independent researcher with an academic background in Political Science from Cairo University. She has worked for over 15 years in the field of social development in Egypt, in projects affiliated to UNDP, EU, GIZ, & British Council specialising in community development and youth empowerment. She has obtained several post graduate certificates in the field of human rights and civil society, the most recent of which from the Cairo Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS). She has conducted research in topics related to social movements, community development, cooperatives, and woman’s role in revolution.
