Nariman Moustafa

Nariman Moustafa is an activist and community organizer in the broader field of alternative learning. Over the past seven years, she has been working as a consultant, mentor, and trainer for youth, refugees, and education start-up founders. After having done substantial research on and worked with the main alternative educational initiatives of India and Palestine, she founded “Mesahat: the Egyptian Network for Self-Directed Education (SDE)” (a network of inter-connected, inter-dependent alternative education spaces that apply the culture, values, and tools of SDE). Within that framework, she is also the director of “Mesahat: Liberating Learning Spaces”, a self-directed, democratic, un/schooling and learning community based in Cairo and that works with children aged 6 to 17 years old (http://mesahat.agilelearningcenters.org/).
